Pressure and process pipe welding in carbon steel and stainless steel, stainless sanitary tube welding and purge welding, supplied, fabricated and installed across Greater Sydney. Delivered by experienced specialist welding partners and managed end to end by Grana Works.
Pipe Welding, Fabrication & Installation in One Booking
Grana Works gives you one point of contact for pipework: supply of pipe, tube and fittings, workshop fabrication of spools, and installation, tie-ins and repairs on site. The welding is carried out by experienced specialist welding partners and managed by us, so you deal with one person from quote to handover.
We work for builders, mechanical and civil contractors, plant and facility managers, and food, beverage and industrial sites across Greater Sydney.
Supply of pipe, fittings and flanges to your specification
Pressure Pipe Standards and Paperwork
In Australia, pressure piping is commonly specified to AS 4041, with welding procedures and welders qualified to standards such as AS/NZS 3992 or ASME Section IX. Your engineer or principal sets the requirement. Tell us the standard, pressure class, material, any NDT and pressure testing, and the documents you need when you request a quote. We will confirm which specialist partner can meet them, and what they can provide, before you commit.
Sanitary (hygienic) tube carries product, so the inside of every weld matters. Lines for food, beverage, brewery, dairy and similar processes need smooth, fully penetrated welds with no crevices, and runs that drain and clean properly.
Supply of stainless sanitary tube and fittings: bends, tees, reducers, ferrules and clamp fittings
Fabrication of tube spools, manifolds and process line sections
On-site installation, modifications and repairs to existing lines
Cleaning-in-place (CIP), product transfer and utility lines
Tube supports and hangers set out for drainage and access
Tube grade, internal finish and inspection are set by your specification. Tell us what you need and we will confirm the process before you commit.
Purge Welding & Orbital Welding Sydney
Purge welding means filling the inside of a pipe or tube with an inert gas, usually argon, while the root is welded. Without it, oxygen attacks the back of a stainless weld and leaves a rough, oxidised root (often called “sugaring”) that can corrode and trap product. Purging uses dams, plugs, tape or inflatable bladders to hold the gas, and an oxygen monitor to check the level before welding starts.
Orbital welding is mechanised TIG welding where the torch travels around the tube in a fixed head, giving consistent, repeatable welds on thin-wall stainless tube. If your specification calls for orbital welding, tell us the tube sizes and requirements and we will confirm whether it can be provided for your job, or whether manual TIG with a back-purge suits.

How a Pipe Welding Job Runs
1. Enquiry – send drawings, isometrics or photos, the material and sizes, the suburb and your timeframe
2. Review – we check the specification, standards, access, shutdown windows and hot-work requirements
3. Written quote – supply, fabrication, installation and documents, itemised
4. Fabrication – spools and sections made in the workshop where possible
5. Install and weld – on site, with hot-work permits and fire watch as the site requires
6. Handover – photos and the records your job asked for at quote stage

Safety & Hot Work
Pipe welding on site is hot work, often in live plants or tight spaces. We plan it around your site’s permits, with screens and extinguishers on hand and a fire watch after welding stops. Grana Works organises and manages the welding, including through trusted specialist partners.
We organise pipe welding across Greater Sydney and surrounding areas, including Macarthur, Western Sydney, the Hills District, the Central Coast, the Blue Mountains and the Illawarra, from our base at 19/55 Anderson Road, Smeaton Grange. Larger jobs further out are quoted by distance. See all service areas or mobile welding in Campbelltown & Macarthur.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you do pipe welding in Sydney? +
Yes. Grana Works organises pipe welding across Greater Sydney: pressure and process pipe in carbon steel and stainless steel, stainless sanitary tube and purge welding. The work is delivered by experienced specialist welding partners and managed by Grana Works, in the workshop or on site.
Can you weld pressure pipe? +
Pressure pipe is welded to the standard your job nominates, commonly AS 4041 for piping, with procedures and welders qualified to standards such as AS/NZS 3992 or ASME IX. Tell us the standard, pressure class and testing when you request a quote, and we will confirm which specialist partner can meet it before you commit.
Do you weld both carbon steel and stainless steel pipe? +
Yes. Carbon steel and stainless steel pipe welding can both be arranged. Tell us the grade, size and wall thickness so we can confirm the right process.
What is purge welding, and why does stainless steel need it? +
Purge welding fills the inside of the pipe or tube with an inert gas, usually argon, while the root is welded. It stops oxygen from oxidising the back of a stainless weld (sugaring), which leaves a rough root that can corrode and trap product. Purge dams, plugs or bladders hold the gas, and an oxygen monitor checks it before welding.
What is sanitary tube welding? +
Sanitary (hygienic) tube welding joins thin-wall stainless steel tube used for food, beverage, brewery, dairy and similar processes. Welds are fully penetrated and back-purged so the inside is smooth and crevice-free, and lines are set out to drain and clean properly.
Can you supply, fabricate and install sanitary tube? +
Yes. We can supply tube and fittings, fabricate spools and manifolds, and install or modify lines on site, all under one booking and one point of contact.
Do you offer orbital welding? +
If your specification calls for orbital welding, tell us the tube sizes and requirements and we will confirm whether it can be provided for your job. For many jobs, manual TIG with a back-purge is the alternative.
How much does pipe welding cost in Sydney? +
It depends on material and size, the number of joints, standards and testing, purging or orbital requirements, access and timing. We don’t publish rates. Send drawings or photos for a written quote.
