Roof Cleaning
Moss, lichen, mould and dirt hold moisture against the roof surface, block water flow and shorten the life of tiles, coatings and metal sheet. We match the cleaning method to the roof material:
Pressure cleaning for sound concrete and terracotta tiles
Low-pressure soft washing for painted, coated and pre-painted steel roofs, where high pressure can damage the finish

Asbestos cement (fibro) roofs are never pressure cleaned. High-pressure water spraying of asbestos-containing material is prohibited under the NSW WHS Regulation. If your roof may contain asbestos, tell us before any work starts so it can be assessed by a licensed asbestos assessor first.

Metal Roofing & Metal Works
We replace damaged metal roof sheets and match the existing profile and colour as closely as current product allows, including COLORBOND® steel and Zincalume® roofs. For larger sections we quote a part re-roof, with sarking, flashings and fixings matched to the existing roof.
Because welding and fabrication sit in the same business, custom flashings, brackets, box-gutter supports, access hatches, walkways and steel fixings can be fabricated and fitted on the same job, with no extra contractor to coordinate.

What Affects the Price of Roof Work
Roof size and pitch: steeper roofs need more edge protection and take longer
Roof material and condition (tile, metal, coated, aged or brittle)
Access: height, number of storeys, scaffold or EWP requirements, neighbouring buildings
How heavily soiled the roof is and whether treatment is needed
Number of repairs, sheet lengths, profile and colour matching

We plan each job around the roof and the site, with edge protection, harness and anchor systems or elevated work platforms as the roof requires, and Grana Works organises and manages the work, including through trusted specialist partners. We clean concrete and terracotta tile roofs, metal roofs and most coated roofs. The method is matched to the surface: pressure cleaning for sound tiles, and low-pressure soft washing for painted or pre-painted steel. We do not pressure clean asbestos cement (fibro) roofs, because high-pressure spraying of asbestos is prohibited in NSW.
Can you fix a leaking roof? +
Yes. We find the source of the leak first. Common causes are failed flashings, cracked ridge capping, slipped tiles, rusted sheets, lifted fixings and blocked gutters. Then we quote the repair. We send photos of the problem and the finished repair.
Can you replace a few metal roof sheets instead of the whole roof? +
Usually, yes. If rust or damage is limited to some sheets or flashings, replacing those sections is normally the most cost-effective fix. Where corrosion is widespread, we explain the options honestly, including a part or full re-roof.
Can you match my existing COLORBOND roof colour? +
We match profile and colour as closely as current product allows. Older roofs weather over time, so a new sheet can look slightly different at first. We will show you the closest match before work starts.
How much does roof cleaning or roof repair cost in Sydney? +
It depends on roof size and pitch, material and condition, access and height, how dirty the roof is, and how many repairs are needed. We give a written, fixed-scope quote after an inspection or a review of clear photos.
Do you clean gutters as well? +
Yes. Gutter, valley and downpipe clean-outs can be done on their own or with a roof clean or repair. Debris is bagged and taken away.
